We were watching last night’s episode of Weatherman Walking, Dylan’s Walks: 2. New Quay and Laugharne when I noticed the subtitles seemed to be consistently late by a couple of seconds.
Checking back on iPlayer to measure the timing, the scatter plot shows a distinct jump in subtitle delay at around ten and a half minutes into the programme.

If you watch the programme you can narrow the place where the timing changes down to 10:32. You can hear the edit in the sound as it jumps from seascape into music.
What has clearly happened here is that someone has cut just under 2 seconds out of the programme without updating the subtitles.
It is also possible to more accurately measure the amount cut out of the programme by looking at the timing histogram, where the two peaks are around 1.8 seconds apart.

The programme was first broadcast back in 28 Apr 2014, so that edit could have happened any time in the past 12 years, but the impact on the subtitles is quite annoying.
